Plonkers at the Lane

Allow me to explain. It's me & John who were the plonkers not the boys from White Hart Lane! It took us 45 minutes to get to Basildon, though the choca traffic in Southend when I suddenly realised we hadn't remembered to bring the tickets or the membership cards. Bollocks! We had to turn around and fight our way through the traffic again. Got home at 1:10pm and set off again - fortunately the traffic had died down by that time and so after fears that we wouldn't make the kick off time of 3pm, we did get there in plenty of time in the end. Phew!
Unfortunately, because of that catastrophe, we didn't have time to meet up with friends Debs and Mick.

I was so disappointed that Berba was rested (I obviously understand the reasons), also Lennon and Keano were on the subs bench.

It was a terrible first half, lacking any kind of energy. The passing didn't flow and they didn't play as a team. It goes to show how much we rely on the 3 guys mentioned above. However, the breakthrough came just before half time with a headed goal from Jenas.

They played slightly better in the 2nd half and the highlight was undoubtedly when Robbo...yes Robbo OUR GOALKEEPER scored the 2nd goal in the 63rd minute. He took a free kick deep in Spurs own half which bounced over Foster at the other end and into the goal. You should've heard the reaction of the fans. After that, every time Robbo got the ball everyone shouted SHOOT SHOOT!! It was so funny! Well we couldn't only score two goals in a game after recent form, and the 3rd did eventually come on 84 minutes when Ghaly scored following a good move involving Stalteri and Lennon (who came on as sub). Shame the day was spoilt by a very late goal from Watford which means yet another 'unclean' sheet! However, despite the performance, another three points puts us in 6th place - the highest position this season and only two points below Bolton. Could we possibly finish in 5th spot again?
